Singapore biz federation chair invites CII members to attract businesses

Kolkata: Speaking at an CII West Bengal annual day event, Singapore Business Federation (SBF, India Business Council) chairman Prasoon Mukherjee on Monday invited members of the CII state council to visit Singapore and explore possibilities of investment in Bengal.

Mukherjee, also the chairman of Universal Success, said that there was a lot of business scope in Bengal that could be tapped. CII West Bengal State Council chairman Debashis Dutta said the organisation would look forward to attract businesses from Singapore.

In his special address, Mukherjee said that cumulatively the USEL Group had invested and committed over Rs 8,200 crore in Bengal and promised to create over 50,000 jobs.

The group was also exploring opportunities in green energy and AI in the state. USEL is setting up a data centre in the state with investment of around Rs 2,000 crore, he added. Besides, it is developing logistics parks in Uluberia and Kona, and an IT park in Sector V.
